Under the UINSPIRE Nepal initiative, to promote youths and young professionals in SETI for DRR, HRI calls applications from young student researchers on a project related to the assessment of landslide hazards using machine learning algorithms in Central Nepal. Fresh graduates of Bachelors or Master’s degree from Nepal in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Engineering Geology or related fields with highly motivated, timely working, independent thinking and keen to learn attitude, are warmly welcome. The target group is specifically young researchers to promote DRR research in Nepal, help them get international scientific exposure and publish an indexed journal article. You will be mentored by two PhD students (& HRI researchers) and a professor based abroad. Research training and materials will be provided and all your research related costs will be covered. Prior knowledge of GIS and Python programming would be welcomed. Under the successful implementation of the research with an SCI-indexed journal submission, we will support you to attend at least 1 international conference and engage in other international collaborations.
